I love the title of a new book I just completed reading. It is titled, ”The No Complaining Rule”! Isn’t that GREAT! The author is Jon Gordon and his websites are www.JonGordon.com and www.NoComplainingRule.com Check it out! In the book, “The No Complaining Rule” Jon uses the story of a company to illustrate how we all have a choice to take a positive path, or a negative one. The problem is that sometimes, we get so entrenched in our negative thinking patterns, that it is truly difficult to get ourselves to be more positive. Throughout the book, Jon outlines many very useful actions we can take to be more positive, and therefore create a happy inner and outer life. The book illustrates that in every complaint there is a positive side, a potential solution to a problem depending on one’s viewpoint. The idea is to use complaints as a catalyst for positive change. Great job with the book. It is easy to read and includes an action plan to help with becoming more positive. Also included are 3 no complaining tools on page 49 that teach how to implement turning complaints into positive thoughts. The goal is not to eliminate all complaining, but to be constructive and solution-oriented about the complaining. As I read the book, I was reminded of the office I used to work in for the State of Wisconsin. The majority of the co-workers at the office I worked at focused entirely on what was wrong with x, y and z…you name it, and they complained. I really feel like sending a copy of the book to my old supervisor who is still there, and I’m sure is still frustrated by the low morale in the officedue mostly to the negativity there . Anyway…get the book!! Excellent and easy to read and implement. The book is useful in business and in our personal lives as well. Thank you to all who read my posts. I am currently interested in reviewing books that are focused on personal growth. So send me a book, I will review and write a post and put a link out there for you.
