Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second….we are having various thoughts leading to a variety of emotions.  In trying to identify how I am feeling at times, especially when feeling sad and wondering why, I do the following process, which is a variation of something called the Quadrinity Process that was developed by Robert Hoffman.  Go to (what I call) your special place.  In my case, my special place is my grandma’s farm.  I chose this place because I always felt safe when I was walking around in the fields and woods when I visited her.  Next take a few deep breaths with eyes closed.  Visualize your safety.  Ask your higher power, spirit guide, etc.  How would you have me see the following:  1.  Physical Self:  Ask your physical self what do you need from me, want from me, I am listening.  Then pause and let the answer come to you from your inner self.  Your physical self may ask you to eat better, exercise, stop doing a destructive behaviour, such as excess eating, drinking or smoking, etc.   2.  Ask your emotional self the same questions above..wait, listen, hear the answer for your healing.  This area for me has to do with my fears so I call this part of me Little Kathy.  She gets scared sometimes but I find when I can identify the triggers of my fearfulness, I begin to feel more secure.  3.  Ask you intellect what it is you need or want from me. Listen, reflect, etc.   4.  Let your spirit (spiritual self) know that you are open and willing to receive your guidance.  5.  Thank all parts of yourself.  6.  Make a gratitude list, if only in your mind of what you are thankful for.  If you like writing, you may want to journal your thoughts and feelings, triggers, experiences,  plans, etc.  I know one thing, after you work on this, you will feel calmer and more relaxed and enjoy your life as you should.  email with questions k@bridgingthegaptogether.com
